One of the many interesting things at Le Maine Menot is the Livre D’or, a gorgeous book in which guests write about their experiences. A couple citations from some of the experiences we can’t help but share with you. In order to respect the privacy we will not mention any names. | A Super Week |
Dear Frans,
The one word that can describe our stay is ‘SUPER.’ Everyone enjoyed the house, the facilities, the scenery, the view and the food from the delicious kitchen. The weather was, however, a bit bleak the last week but we luckily still had some days with sun in the end. It could have been much worse so you did not hear us complaining. Peter, Cora en Mireille where very happy with how we left the place because we understood that week before us had caused drama. Canoeing at Aubeterre was a lot of fun and the food on the little square by the Hotel Le France was delicious and had a great atmosphere.
From the group we do have two tips which I would like to share. It is a bit annoying to have to walk through the house wet when you need to use the restrooms while enjoying the pool. So perhaps an outside bathroom would be a nice addition. The second thing I heard was regarding a small fridge by the swimming pool, maybe even by the Sauna, so that you can just refill without having to go back inside.
Thanks for all the good care and communication during the past period and of course the organising of our stay and diner at Hotel Le Paix. I hope to return to Le Maine Menot, perhaps till then!

| Homesick on the last night |
How I enjoyed Le Maine Menot! From early in the morning till late at night, un-matched luxuries. I really feel at home here. I usually enjoy all holidays but do look forward to returning home, but not this time. I already feel homesick to LMM on the last night there! Much Thanks!

| A wonderful week |
 We don’t really know Frans or any of the other people in this book, but Le Maine Menot we do by now! There were 14 of us there to enjoy a wonderful week in the fantastic house. Silence by arrival and silence by departure. First we marvelled and the house, scenery and view before even noticing all the different facilities. And now, after a week of unmatched peace and quiet, we are sad as we depart.

| White Dolphins |
 Just a quick summary of all our experiences here at Le Maine Menot. There was, of course, the warmest day ever in June, 39 degree! Everyone was making use of the swimming pool that day with all the accessories we could hope for: airbeds, tubes, falls, Frisbees and even underwater checkers. For some of us the pool was even irresistible at night, so now rare white dolphins have been spotted in France also. Unfortunately there were also less fortunate days on which we gladly made use of the game room. We also made some expeditions in the area such as canoeing in Perigieux and mountain biking in Cognac/Jarnac. Drank our fair share of Rose beer and cognac for sure as well.

 It was a fantastic week. We enjoyed the pool, the weather, the wine, the sauna and the rest of the great place. Everything surpassed our expectations. Thus everyone was in a top mood and enjoyed themselves fully. In a nutshell, Fantastic! Thanks alot!

| Birthday in a Villa |
 Thumbs up to everyone at Le Maine Menot. The intimacy and cosiness over here was unique. I really enjoyed it, celebrating my birthday here was a completely new experience that I will never forget.

With all the different things to entertain in the vicinity considered, we still managed to work hard and reach results. Early 2004, a group of 50 Plus-ers in this wonderful region! I had some special days here with all the people around me, Le Maine menot’s great hospitality helped a lot with this. This holiday home is simply organised in very cosy manor. I will surely return.

 In essence a house in France is nothing, but a brother-in-law who owns a house in France, now that is something! We really enjoyed the house and scenery.

| Golden Wedding |
21st of August 2010,
We did not have to think long about in what country we wanted to celebrate our golden wedding with children and grandchildren. France was a fast decision, our first choice holiday land and second home, after living here for 10 years. Google showed us to a very comfortable house big enough for 16 people. We never regretted selecting Le Maine Menot, young and old had no problem enjoying this wonderful set up.

Living like a god is possible at Le Maine Menot here in France. That’s how we presented the present for our parents (in-law). A great week we had here and the fact that I am writing about it here in this book means that it has sadly come to an end. Thanks for everything and much success with your future endeavours.

| Pasta Guns |
 Today is the last day, tomorrow we move on to the Netherlands, Switzerland, Paris or a camping somewhere close by. What a great week, we were 5 families with 9 kids. The pool was great, there was some rain but how else can it stay so nice and green around here. We enjoyed pasta guns, Cops and Robbers and the BBQ that we somehow seemed to use 24 hours per day! A week we truly enjoyed, we don’t really know Frans but thanks anyway!

| Meeting up in the Pool |
Good evening,
We arrived on the 8th of July 2006 with 15 family members at Le Maine Menot. All our expectations were exceeded. All the comfort we hoped for, and all the privacy you need. Moreover, a wonderful view from the great terrace. During the warm days, the swimming pool was very popular! Also the trips to restaurants in the vicinity were really delicious. Especially all the options at the Vendoire town square in Villebois. We are left with great memories.
